Mindfulness (John Vervaeke)

Mindfulness : Includes the ability to brake away from an inappropriate frame (meditation) and the ability to make new frame (contemplation).

Meditation : Stepping back and looking at. : Reflecting upon.

Contemplation : Stepping back and looking through. : Look deeply into things. : Frame awareness that can be appropriated in order to improve your capacities for inside and self regulation.

Three practices

  1. Meditative practice
    • Vipassana meditation: Focus on my sensation. Step back and look at your sensations (at your distractions).
  2. Contemplative practice
    • Stoic: -
    • Metta: Trying to awaking to the fact that you are constantly assuming an identity and assigning an identity.
  3. Moving practice (conductive to the flow state):
    • Rock climbing
