What we see here is a new form of capitalism ; one that has not just broken free from the constraints of free exchange in a rules-based system (that may have happened some time ago) – but also even the pretence of it. This new form of capitalism has also more-or-less entirely lost contact with the real economy - and the reality-based community who live in it.
But this capitalism will be coming back to earth soon – and it will be making a sizeable crater in the real economy, and reality itself when it does so.
